Somehow (and don't ask me how) I managed to take the path to the little lochan in grid square NN 8909 rather than the path to Croft; but no matter. This only added about half a kilometer to the day, and as long as I turned left rather than right at the end of the path, it still brought me to Loch an Eilein.
Loch an Eilein (pictured) was as beautiful as ever, and I passed along its North Eastern shore until I came to the track to the Cairngorm Club footbridge.
