The 2015 Challenge, day 6: Dalbeg to Red Bothy (3)

A little way beyond Coignafearn Lodge I turned and looked back, and took a photo to show the lodge in its setting. The mountains ... the river ... the vastness of it all, dwarfing the house itself despite the grand scale on which the house is built. For me this is what Scotland is all about.

Four kilometres beyond Coignafearn Lodge is Coignafearn old Lodge. As I approached I saw a wisp of smoke rising from the chimney, indicating that it was occupied, so I knocked on the door and cheekily asked if I might use their bathroom to save having to toilet in the outdoors later in the day. It's not that I have a problem toileting in the outdoors, as such - just that I like to avoid doing so where possible for the sake of the environment. My request was granted, and a few minutes later I gratefully continued on my way.
