The estate ponies were also grazing up by the loch, as in previous years. The grey did not seem remotely interested in me, but the blue roan was much more inquisitive - particularly once I had stopped to try to take a photograph. So I offered him a palm to lick, and gave him some fuss and attention while he nuzzled me. Then he decided that maybe the grass was more interesting after all, and put his head down to eat, so I continued on my way.
