As I followed the River Add up, the turf was soft and springy underfoot; but the planting crowded down to the water's edge in the later stages, and four streams run off A'Chruach in deep reentrants which are not the easiest to cross. In retrospect, I think I would have been better crossing the river and climbing the far bank, above which it looked relatively flat and easy (and, dare I say it, the grass on the other side was even a little greener ... )
